Nurturing yourself is not selfish – it’s essential
Hello I’m Kerry
Possibly you know nothing about Reiki but something has caught your attention and you decided to find out more. Welcome.
I have always wanted to work with people and started my early career by training in social work at Otago University, then later in Human Resources. Along with raising two children (now teenagers), I have worked in the business world where I see so many people trying to do, and be, everything to everyone and they often end up in a permanent state of stress.
My own journey with Reiki started with the discovery of various relaxation techniques and meditation. I became fascinated with how my own emotional energy or state affected me physically and mentally, but I found I often needed help in moving it along. Reiki helped me through a particularly tough period in my life, and it always impresses me how the right tools seem to come along at the right time in one’s life.
I trained from two very experienced, respected and knowledgeable Usui/Holy Fire® III Reiki Master Teachers, Dawn Bowater in Wellington and Joan Maute in Hawaii. There have been many other teachers in my life and my training will never be complete. I continuously learn and discover and find joy in my practise of reiki for my clients and for myself. I love working with people who want to help themselves feel better and honour their journey of healing.
I love Reiki, I love how it can help people, I love its intelligence, I love working with it, there is no judgement with Reiki, and I would love to connect you to Reiki for your own benefit.
What can I expect from a Reiki session?
At your Reiki session, we will chat to see how you are feeling and what you would like to work on. You are welcome to ask any questions at any time! You remain fully clothed and can lie down on a massage-type table, or sit in a chair, with a blanket placed over you for warmth and comfort – the choice is yours. I will place my hands on or above your body for a few minutes in various positions, typically your head, shoulders, torso area, back, knees and feet. I may also incorporate some movement around and on your body if I feel this is appropriate. A session is 60 minutes.
